Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Anxiety & OCD in Mississippi

Hi, I’m Tyler Slay, a licensed therapist offering Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for anxiety and OCD in Mississippi. I specialize in helping children, teens, and adults in Madison, Jackson, Ridgeland, Clinton, Brandon, and Flowood find lasting relief and meaningful change.

How I Treat Anxiety and OCD with CBT & ERP

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand and shift the thoughts and behaviors that fuel anxiety, low mood, and emotional stuckness. CBT is backed by decades of research and focuses on the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, and actions. When we adjust one, we begin to shift the others.

CBT is especially effective for:

  • Generalized anxiety and chronic worry

  • Panic attacks

  • Social anxiety

  • Health anxiety

  • Perfectionism and high-functioning anxiety

  • Teen and young adult stress

  • Depression and low motivation

For OCD and intrusive thoughts, I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) — the gold standard treatment for OCD. I’ve trained under Dr. Michael J. Greenberg, a nationally recognized OCD expert, with a focus on how OCD often ties to a person’s history and belief system. I help clients stop the cycle of compulsive rumination, particularly in Pure O and thought-based OCD presentations.

I have also trained at International OCD Foundation’s Pediatric Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI). This specialized training equips me with the science, skills, and framework to help children and adolescents in Mississippi overcome Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and various other anxiety disorders.

Other tools I incorporate include:

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for anxiety rooted in trauma

  • Attachment-informed care for those struggling with relationships or early emotional wounds

  • Values-based therapy to help align your actions with what matters most

  • Christian therapy for those who want to incorporate therapy into their walk with God

Therapy That’s Personalized to You

My therapy style is gentle, collaborative, and focused on your real-life goals. We won't just focus on symptoms — we’ll explore your story, your experiences, and what’s getting in the way of living the life you want.

We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you. You don’t need to have it all figured out — that’s what we’ll do together. I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Rooted in Mississippi. Connected to the Right Resources.

Because I grew up in Central Mississippi, I’m deeply connected to local mental health and medical providers in the Jackson metro area. If you need a collaborative care team, I can help you build one. Many of my clients benefit from this kind of wraparound support, and I’ll make sure you’re not navigating it alone.
